Acoustic Hollow Metal Doors

Specifications

Lindstrom Corporation manufactures a vertically steel stiffened, 1-3/4" thick acoustical door whlch was tested by Architectural Testing, Inc. When paired with a custom hollow metal door frame and a gasket and threshold package provided by Zero Corporation, the door and frame assembly carries either an STC rating of 47 or 45 (OITC 35).

The doors will be fabricated as follows:

  • 16 ga. face sheets of commercial grade CRS A60 Galvaneal or 304 stainless steel.
  • Doors will have continuous vertical steel stlffeners and filled with mineral rock wool and additional sound deadening materials.
  • Hinge reinforcements will be 12 ga. steel. 12" long, lock reinforcements will be 16 ga. with 11 ga. thread depth.
  • Other lock and closure reinforcements will be 12 ga.
  • Doors will be reinforced for all surface type hardware.
  • Drilling and tapping of surface hardware to be done in the field by the installer.
  • Edges of the door will be stitch welded on seam, filled and ground to insure a smooth seamless appearance.

Finish:

  • Doors will be thoroughly cleaned after fabrication and given a prime coat of rust-inhibiting paint.
  • The primer will be air-dried.

Undercut 3/4".
Hinge Backset 1/4'.
